The true origins of the Mara lie in the distant past, with the birth of a being known to very few, known by the name Vitraam Vrashiva, the Bleeding Star Scourges Heaven. Of the Thirteen Tribes, only two are purely evil in nature. Feral Mara are driven by base instinct, with no true mind to conceive good or evil most Tribal Mara are fully capable of developing a moral compass, however skewed in their own favor it may be, and are even able to empathize on some level with mortals. When the dust settled, the Maraashura were gone, and now even they have faded into myth.Īlthough Mara are born out of negative energy, this does not make them inherently evil. The Cataclysm ripped across the Maraavisha and into the other planes, bringing an end to the age of prosperity in the mortal Realms and destroying the great civilizations the Deva had left behind. In time they grew unsatisfied and made war against each other, shattering their domain in an event known as the Great Cataclysm. Only four of the original thirteen Maraashura survived the war with the Deva, and saw fit to divide the Maraavisha among themselves. It is a dark place, the air filled with a burning miasma that makes it completely inhospitable for any non-Mara life, which occasionally leaks into the mortal world when there's a breach between the planes, allowing Mara to slip through the cracks. The Maraavisha is a hellish plane of existence, born in the wake of an ancient war between the Mara and Deva, to which they were banished for their rebellion against the Heavens. There are Twelve (formerly Thirteen) distinct tribes, descended from the legendary Maraashura, the Demon Lords who once ruled over the Mara.Īll Mara are born in the Maraavisha, the Damned Realm, where the corrupted energy that gave rise to them flows to and coalesces into their primal essence, Mara Hado. They typically end up as servants of a higher power, the older, stronger, Tribal Mara, elevated above their brethren and gifted with free will, intelligence, and devastating power. A Kemuri Hound is driven by pure aggression, making them highly territorial.įeral Mara, like the creatures listed above, are little more than mindless beasts. ![]() It burns to touch them, and they leave trails of fire in their wake. Kemuri Hounds, giant hell hounds made out of ash and embers. A related demon is a skinless, red hand that grows from it's branches. Kasa Bats hibernate in the ground and cliff sides, bursting out to ambush prey and attack in massive swarms.īlood Blossoms, demonic trees that root themselves in place and reach out with their branches to skewer victims, drinking their blood to feed their blossoms and spread their seeds. Kasa Bats are flying, squid-like monsters somewhat resembling a fleshy umbrella, with a razor sharp talon on the end of which is their mouth. They are driven by insatiable hunger, and while not very strong individually, nor very intelligent, they become stronger and smarter when in large groups. Born out of negative, corrupted energy, the Mara come in a wide variety of monstrous forms, most of them little more than feral beasts. Primarily, the Mara are known for being the ancient enemies of the Deva, the Old Gods. However, its graphics and fluid action make this game really stand out far above other similar titles.Demons within the Praamvisha are known as Mara, malicious spirits driven by base desires and instincts, who lash out at the world in a ravenous frenzy, destroying and consuming everything in their sights. In terms of structure, Forsaken World: Gods And Demons is very similar to many other MMORPGs.
